Because the Beetle R-Line is one of the most underrated cars ever made, because they’re awesome. Yet no one buys them and almost no comapnies make parts for them. I have access to those types of resources now, and I can confirm it.

I’ve heard the R-Line is a great package for the Beetle, but that it’s just an also-ran when compared to the GTI. If you want a GTI that looks like a Beetle, this is your car.

From a purely sports-driven perspective I can see where that comes from. However when I was shopping for the Beetle I was coming out of an FA5 Civic Si. One of my criticisms about that car was the harshness it has over NoVa roads. The GTI is almost on that same level. The Beetle makes for a much better daily driver without sacrificing too much in the corners.

That’s a weird looking 911 you have there.
